The mismatch repair system recognizes mismatched base pairs, removes a portion of the DNA strand containing the error, and then

resynthesizes the missing DNA using the correct sequence as a template. But what if the mismatch repair system instead removed a piece of the DNA strand that contained the correct sequence? What would replication of this improperly repaired sequence produce?

Answer:

It could lead to several later problems in the cell.

Explanation:

Removing a piece of DNA could severely affect the cell but it could also cause nothing. Depending on the part that is damaged, it could codify for a vital protein but it could also be an intron, which are pieces of DNA that don't codify for any protein. This has been recently researched and even though there are introns that could cause some serious trouble, most of them are an unknown matter to nowadays scientists. Anyway, a wrongly repaired sequence could end in a mutation that can potentially damage the cell and therefore the organism.

Why is salt not allowed to pass through the cell membrane?
xxTIMURxx [149]
Salt molecules are much smaller than starch molecules and can pass through more easily. ... Thus, they are quite large molecules in contrast to the relatively small salt molecules. Describe the steps that bone goes through as it heals from a break.
lyudmila [28]

Answer:

Explained

Explanation:

Bone healing has three main processes and these stages are overlapping to each other. These processes are inflammation, bone production and bone remodeling.

Inflammation occurs immediately after the fracture and last several days. It enables clotting of blood. It provides initial structure stability and framework for new bone formation.

Bone production occurs when the clotted blood formed by inflammation is replaced with fibrous tissues and cartilage as soft callous.

Bone remodeling is the final stage of the bone healing and it goes on for several months. Bone continues to form and compact. Bones returns to its original shape and the blood circulation in that area improves.
