For example, for the set of numbers 6,12, 20, 9 and 18, the average can be calculated by first counting the

6 + 12 + 20 + 9 + 18 = 65

Then divide this result 65 by 5 which is the number of numbers that make up the set and that you added to obtain it, which results in 13, which would be the average of this set of numbers.

65/5 = 13

For the median, they are ordered from least to greatest.

Once this is done, we take the number located in the middle and this will be the median.

Thus we would have the numbers 6, 9, 12, 18 and 20. In this case, the median is 12.
