Let roses be R and carnations be C

"in a ratio of 2 to 7" means that the ratio of R to C is 2 to 7, meaning you'll have to cross multiply to translate it algebraically

R:C\\2:7\\7R=2C\\

since C = 343 we plug 343 in 7R=2C:

7R=2(343)\\7R=686\\R=\frac{686}{7} \\R=98

ergo, she needs 98 roses

to make sure of the answer:

"ratio of 2 to 7" is technically a fraction =>  \frac{2}{7}

and since the ratio of the roses to the carnations is the same as \frac{2}{7} we plug the values R = 98 and C=343:

\frac{R}{C}=\frac{98}{343}=\frac{2}{7}

check with calculator too, hope i helped <33

The weights of bags filled by a machine are normally distributed with a standard deviation of 0.055 kilograms and a mean that ca
Sloan [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that the  weights of bags filled by a machine are normally distributed with a standard deviation of 0.055 kilograms and a mean that can be set by the operator.

Let the mean be M.

Only 1% of the bags weigh less than 10.5 kilograms

i.e. P(X<10.5) = 0.01

corresponding Z value for P(Z<z) = 0.01 is -0.025

i.e. 10.5 = M-0.025(0.055)

Solve for M from the above equation

M = 10.5+0.025(0.055)\\=10.501375

Rounding off we get

10.50 kgs

Mean weight should be fixed as 10.50 kg.

Rick used 4 2/3 yards of fabric to sew 3 1/2 shirts. what is the unit rate of cloth he used in terms of yards per shirt
GarryVolchara [31]
For sewing 3 1/2 shirts, he used = 4 2/3 yards of fabric
Then, for 1 shirt, it would be: 4 2/3 / 3 1/2

Fabric for 1 shirt = 14/3 / 7/2
We can re-write it as: 14/3 * 2/7 = 4/3 yards

In short, Final answer would be 4/3 or 1 1/3 yards

Hope this helps!
