For the first one just do the multiplication as you do normally.
For the second one, you have to put a zero behind before calculating the numbers in front

A set of data with 1200 numbers is normally distributed with a mean of 27 and a standard deviation of 4. How many numbers in the
Thepotemich [5.8K]

Step-by-step explanation:

The mean is 27 and the standard deviation is 4.

23 is 1 standard deviation below the mean, and 31 is 1 standard deviation above the mean.  According to the empirical rule, 68% of the population is between -1 and +1 standard deviations.

68% of 1200 is 816.

19 is 2 standard deviations below the mean, and 35 is 2 standard deviations above the mean.  According to the empirical rule, 95% of the population is between -2 and +2 standard deviations.

95% of 1200 is 1140.

Given the sequence in the table below, determine the sigma notation of the sum for term 4 through term 15
goblinko [34]
a_n=5 \ for \ n=1 \\
a_n=-10 \ for \ n=2 \\
a_n=20 \ for \ n=3

You can see it's a geometric sequence because the ratio is constant (\frac{a_3}{a_2}=\frac{a_2}{a_1}).
The nth term of a geometric sequence:
a_n=a_1 \times r^{n-1}

a_1=5 \\
r=\frac{a_2}{a_1}=\frac{-10}{5}=-2 \\ \\
a_n=5(-2)^{n-1}

It has to be the sum for term 4 through term 15, so n=4 and the number above the sigma is 15.

Your answer:
\sum^{15}_{n=4} 5(-2)^{n-1}

Here are summary statistics for randomly selected weights of newborn girls: n=185,
Anna11 [10]

Answer:

The confidence  interval for the population mean μ is 32.487

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

Number of weights of newborn girls n=185.

Mean \bar{x}=31.4 hg

Standard deviation s=7.5 hg

Use a 95% confidence level i.e. cl=0.95

To find : What is the confidence interval for the population mean μ?

Solution :

Using t-distribution,

The degree of freedom DF=n-1=185-1=184

\alpha=\frac{1-0.95}{2}

\alpha=0.025

The t critical value is t=1.973.

The confidence interval build is

CI=\bar{x}\pm(t\cdot \frac{s}{\sqrt{n}})

Substitute the values,

CI=31.4\pm(1.973\cdot \frac{7.5}{\sqrt{185}})

CI=31.4\pm(1.973\cdot 0.5514)

CI=31.4\pm(1.087)

31.4+1.087

32.487

Therefore, the confidence  interval for the population mean μ is 32.487

How to write an equivalent ratio for 9 over 27 without using a multiplication table
OlgaM077 [116]
You can multiply any number by both 9 and 27 to get an equivalent ratio. For example, you have 9:27. Multiply both of them by 2, and you get 18:54.
