Marbury v. Madison is the Supreme Court case that confirmed that the federal courts have the authority to declare laws unconstitutional. It did not necessarily create or establish the power as much as it confirmed that it is inherent in the power of the judicial branch even though it is not specifically stated in the Constitution. This was devised by Chief Justice John Marshall (former secretary of state to John Adams) when he declared parts of the Judiciary act of 1789 unconstitutional. William Marbury had been elected as a judge by Adams in the Judiciary act of 1801, but he was not commissioned by Marshall in time. When Jefferson became president (March, 4, 1801), his secretary of state, James Madison, did not deliver the commission under the new Democratic-Republican party.

Describe the impact of national and international markets on the Texas economy.
aivan3 [116]

Answer:

Today the Texas economy is large, diverse and dynamic, boasting a gross state product (GSP) valued at almost $925 billion in 2005. If the Lone Star State were an independent country, it would have the tenth largest national economy in the world--just behind Spain and Canada, and ahead of Brazil, the Republic of Korea, and India--according to data from the World Bank.

Which is part of the selection process for all federal judges
Stella [2.4K]

The part of the selection process for all federal judges is that they are being appointed by the president and approved by the Senate

Explanation:

The selection process of all the federal judges which include justice of Supreme court, justices of appellate court and justices of district court, are to be appointed by the President or rather say nominated by the President, which are then approved or rather say confirmed by the Senate members of the U.S Senate.

This selection process has been stated under the United States of American Constitution. The President nominates any candidate which is then required to fill a questionnaire which is then taken for review to the Senate Judiciary Committee
