Explain artificial selection. Describe how artificial selection explains and support Darwins theory of evolution.
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

Explanation:

In artificial selection, breeders select parent organisms with desired characteristics, in the hopes that when they are crossed, the desired variations will appear in the offspring. ... If the organism is "fit" it does survive and reproduce, thus possibly passing its traits to future generations.

Meiosis is the process that occurs in sexually reproducing organisms in the sex cells of male and female organisms.

Variation occurs in an organism due to the process of crossing over which only occurs in meiosis in which the chromosomes between non-sister chromatids exchanged. Meiosis also causes genetic variation due to the process of recombination so in inheritance, meiosis has great importance and  impact on the shape and structure of organism.

Which events are associated with convergent boundaries? Check all that apply.
Sergio [31]

Answer:

Creation of mid-ocean ridges, creation of new mountains, formation of earthquakes, and formation of volcanoes.

Explanation:

The convergent boundary plate tectonic comprises collisions between the continental and oceanic plates. The less dense and thinner oceanic plate gets overridden by the more denser and thicker continental plate. The ocean plate is forced down the mantle, and the event is called subduction.

The magma found in the mantle leads to melting of the subduction plates. The magma gets within the plates via pores. This magma plate turns buoyant and moves in an upward direction. The molten magma leads to volcanic eruptions along with earthquakes. The solidification of magma in the subduction zone leads to the formation of ocean ridges. The formation of mountains close to the continents takes place when the magma after the volcanic eruption gets cooled and solidifies.
