Exercise can be one of the ways to measure the cardiorespiratory fitness and the cardiorespiratory fitness can be improved by doing aerobic exercise but a doctor can measure cardiorespiratory health of fitness by just checking your heart rate and blood pressure and VO2 max.

So by testing pulse rate and blood pressure, doctors can tell about the fitness of your heart. A person with good cardiorespiratory fitness must have a normal heart rate and blood pressure.  

Doctors also check the amount of oxygen a person is consuming to gain energy and is called VO2 max testing. Therefore the statement is false.
