The profit and loss statement of Kitsch Ltd., an S corporation, shows $100,000 book income. Kitsch is owned equally by four shar
postnew [5]

Answer:

  • $82000
  • $20500
  • $750
  • Not taxable

Explanation:

with the information provided

A) how the entity's non separately stated income is $82000

to calculate the non separately stated income

(Total long term stated income) - (total short term stated income)

long term stated income

book value = $100000

long term capital loss/gain = $6000

book value + long term capital loss = $106000 ( total long term stated income )

short term stated income

tax exempt = $3000

dividends = $9000

1231 gain = $7000

net passive income = $5000

total short term stated income = 3000 + 9000 + 7000 + 5000 = $24000

hence non separately stated income = $106000 - $24000 = $82000

B) To show how one of he kitsch shareholder is bearing $205000 income or loss

Number of shareholder = 4

non separately stated income = $82000

non separately stated income / number of shareholder = 82000 / 4 =$20500

C)

Tax exempt income = $3000

number of share holders = 4

hence Billings' share of tax exempt interest income = tax exempt income / number of share holders

= $3000 / 4 = $750

Billings income is not taxable this year because his taxable income this year is $20500

In which situation would a savings bond be the best investment to earn interest?
Sergeeva-Olga [200]
If you have a large amount of money to save at one time, a savings bond would be the best investment to earn interest.  If you do not need the money right away, a savings bond will allow you to earn interest at a faster rate. Since savings bonds are longer-term investments, the other options would not fit the purpose as much due to needing the funds at a quicker rate. If you were to put the money directly into a savings account over a bond, you have easier access to the funds; however, the interest is very small in comparison.

drek231 [11]

Answer:

Net operating income= 10,400

Explanation:

Giving the following information:

Sales (2,000 units) $40,000

Variable expenses 24,000

Contribution margin 16,000

Fixed expenses 11,200

Net operating income $4,800

If the selling price increases by $4 per unit and the sales volume decreased by 200 units:

First, we need to determine the unitary selling price and unitary variable cost:

Selling price= 40,000/2,000= $20 + $4= $24

UNitary variable cost= 24,000/2,000= $12

Now, we can calculate the new net operating income:

Sales= 1,800*24= 43,200

Variable cost= 1,800*12= (21,600)

Contribution margin= 21,600

Fixed costs= (11,200)

Net operating income= 10,400
