Answer:

<u>Friendly letter</u>

HIGH RISE SCHOOL,

P.O.BOX 199-405005,

DOWNTOWN.

6/16/2019.

Dear Abdi,

Hello Abdi, hope you are doing fine. I am also doing fine except for bad new routines introduced in our school.

The change of our class room to another poorly ventilated class room annoys me. I feel that our original class should be restored to us.

Our lunch break time has been shortened, it is too insufficient for our meals, I hope the normal time we were used to is reinstated.

Our class teacher was changed, we now have a class teacher whom I do not like, I wish the previous teacher was never replaced.

Other than the above, all is well. Hope to see you soon when schools close up.

Yours sincerely,

Jane.

Which statement best summarizes Roosevelt's reasons for supporting immediate approval of the Universal Declaration of Human Righ
Finger [1]

Answer:

D). Once the UDHR is approved, countries will have common ideals to work toward and will be able to set rules on human rights issues.

Explanation:

The last statement i.e. 'once...issues' most aptly encapsulates Roosevelt's reasons for backing the prompt approval of UDHR(Universal Declaration Of Human Rights.' The signing of UDHR will not only offer credibility to the declaration but he believed that the approval of UDHR will allow the countries to work on the common goals of upliftment of human dignity and 'completion of an international covenant for human rights and its implementation' with full fortitude and inspiration. Thus, <u>option D</u> is the correct answer.

zloy xaker [14]

Answer:

2. The short story "The Lady, or The Tiger" by Frank R. Stanton revolves around the story of how a barbaric judgement of justice is carried out on the main convicts.

Explanation:

2. The short story "The Lady or The Tiger" by Frank R. Stanton revolves around the barbaric display or relay of judgement on a young man for being in love with the princess of the kingdom. The King's decree of passing judgement by letting the accused chose between two doors further intensifies the conflict and suspense.

Though the author did not specify the ending of the story, we can best infer that the right door that the princess led her lover to chose will be that of the tiger. This is based on the reading that from the story where the narrator mentions that the princess had often seen in her dreams the young man opening the door that led to the tiger. But more than this is the horrific knowledge of what will be if he chose the other door that led to the beautiful maiden.

<em>"How in her grievous reveries had she gnashed her teeth, and torn her hair, when she saw his start of rapturous delight as he opened the door  of the lady! How her soul had burned in agony when she had seen him rush to meet that woman, with  her flushing cheek and sparkling eye of triumph; when she had seen him lead her forth, his whole frame kindled with the joy of recovered life; when she had heard the glad shouts from the multitude, and the wild ringing of the happy bells; when she had seen the priest, with his joyous followers, advance to the couple, and make them man and wife before her very eyes; and when she had seen  them walk away together upon their path of flowers, followed by the tremendous shouts of the hilarious multitude, in which her one despairing shriek was lost and drowned!"</em>

This whole passage seems to deny that the princess will allow her lover to chose the door that led to the maiden, for she has had terrible nightmares that show him happy in choosing the maiden and getting married. Rather than observe her lover be married to another maiden, we can fairly say that she will chose to lead him to the tiger. Furthermore, the statement that " <em>The girl was lovely, but she had dared to raise her eyes to the loved one of the princess; and, with all the intensity  of the savage blood transmitted to her through long lines of wholly barbaric ancestors, she hated the woman who blushed and trembled behind that silent door"</em> amply suggests that she will lead the young lover to the tiger.

Highlight clues that signal the reader should change tone.
Talja [164]

The clues that signal the reader should change tone are the punctuation marks, the grammatical signs. For example, the quotation marks at the beginning of something someone else said literally or the exclamation marks.

The tone of the first line of dialogue until "Gettysburg" is a kind tone, a tone of advise. The narrator is trying to help the other person in doing something he or she obviously is finding hard to do by giving a piece of advise and bringing up a memory of a successful similar case.

The clue that helps the reader understand how to read the word "bang" is the exclamation mark. It gives the word a surprise tone, a strong accent.

The best tone for reading the word "bang" is an exciting tone, a surprise one, even a loud one.

The words that should be read with a formal tone are the ones that give factual information. The sentence: Mister Lincoln couldn't think of anything to say at the Gettysburg" gives information about an event and it needs to be read formally, also, when the narrator wants to transmit calmness, a formal and slow tone is needed, because people also transmit messages with the vibrations of our voices and tones.
