You would know 4×5=20 so just add 2 more zeroes cause there is a zero in 40 and in 50

hope this is what you're looking for and made sense

All you have to do to find 40*50 in your mind, is multiply 4 and 5. Then you will have to add the two 0s at the end. So it will go like 4*5=20+0+0=2,000

If there are x teams in a sports league, and all the teams play each other twice, a total of N(x) games are played, where N
Elena-2011 [213]

Answer:

It will cost $700 to play the entire schedule.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : N(x)=x^2-x

To Find :  A softball league has 5 teams, each of which play the others twice. If the league pays $35 per game, how much will it cost to play the entire schedule?

Solution:

Equation for total no. of games when all the teams play each other twice is N(x)=x^2-x

Now we are given that A softball league has 5 teams, each of which play the others twice.

So, Substitute x = 5 in the given equation

N(x)=5^2-5

N(x)=20

So, The total no. of games = 20

Cost for 1 game = $35

So, cost for 20 games = 35 \times 20 = 700

Hence  it will cost $700 to play the entire schedule.

Solve this equation with a variable term on both sides. 5.1y = –0.3y – 21.6 What is the solution? need help now (will mark brain
AlladinOne [14]

Answer:

y = -4

Step-by-step explanation:

Combine the y terms.  To do this, add 0.3y to both sides, which results in:

5.1y + 0.3y = -21.6, or

5.4y = -21.6

Dividing both sides by 5.4 yields the desired result:

y = -21.6/5.4 = -4
