When a child works towards achievement of the goals of the intervention intensively and individually with a speech therapist then it is an example of the Tier III of the Response to Intervention (RTI) Model. This Tier addresses specific and significant problems and the interventions are well-defined. This is because of the intensive nature of the interventions in this Tier and the impact they can have on the child. The lower tiers of the RTI model involves collective instructions and feedback but Tier III is of individual nature.
