Answer:

a) Proportion of the sampled angles are at least 30° = 0.144

b) Proportion of sampled angles between 10 and 25 = 0.415

Step-by-step explanation:

Class Relative Frequency

0-<5                 0.176

5-<10                0.169

10-<15          0.179

15-<20          0.139

20-<30          0.193

30-<40          0.075

40-<60          0.04

60-<90          0.029

A) Proportion of the sampled angles which are at least 30° can be calculated by adding the relative frequencies which are greater than 30. This will include the classes 30-<40, 40-<60 and 60-<90, So,

proportion of the sampled angles are at least 30° = 0.075 + 0.04 + 0.029

proportion of the sampled angles are at least 30° = 0.144

B) For the proportion of angles between 10 and 25, we need to consider the classes 10-<15, 15-<20 and 20-<30. Since we are interested in the angles up till 25 degrees, we need to divide the relative frequency of the class 20-<30 by 2 because 25 lies in the middle of this class. So,

Proportion of sampled angles between 10 and 25 = 0.179 + 0.139 + (0.193/2)

Proportion of sampled angles between 10 and 25 = 0.415

C) For constructing the histogram, you need to plot the relative frequencies on the y axis and the classes on the x-axis by choosing a suitable scale for both the axes. I have plotted the graph on paint but its a bit untidy. I am attaching the graph as a snippet here so that you can have an idea of the heights.

By looking at the heights of the classes, we can say that The distribution of misorientation angles is heavily positively skewed because there is a tail at the positive side of the graph. The graph is also unimodal since there is only one highest peak present.

A 10-foot ladder touches the side of a building at a point 8 feet above the ground. At what height would a 22-foot ladder touch
WARRIOR [948]

Answer:

8.75 feet

Step by step:

Given that a 12 foot ladder leans against a building seven feet above the ground.

By using trigonometry ratio, the angle between the ladder and the ground will be

SinØ = opposite/ hypothenus

SinØ = 7 / 12

SinØ = 0.58333

Ø = Sin^-1(0.58333)

Ø = 35.69 degree

At what height would an 15 foot ladder touch the building if both ladders form the same angle with the ground?

Using the same trigonometric ratios

SinØ = opposite/hypothenus

Sin 35.69 = opposite/ 15

Cross multiply

Opposite = 15 × sin 35.69

Opposite = 8.75 feet

Therefore, the ladder will touch the building if both ladders form the same angle with the ground at height 8.75 feet.

At a certain gas station, 40% of the customers use regular gas (A1), 35% use plus gas (A2), and 25% use premium (A3). Of those c
grandymaker [24]

Answer:

a.)

P( A₂ ∩ B ) = P(B | A₂) × P(A₂)

P( A₂ ∩ B ) = 0.40 × 0.35

P( A₂ ∩ B ) = 0.14

b.)

P(B) = P( A₁ ∩ B )  + P( A₂ ∩ B ) + P( A₃ ∩ B )

P(B) = 0.08 + 0.14 + 0.125

P(B) = 0.345

c.)

For regular gas:

P(A₁ | B) = P( A₁ ∩ B ) / P(B)

P(A₁ | B) = 0.08 / 0.345

P(A₁ | B) = 0.232

For plus gas:

P(A₂ | B) = P( A₂ ∩ B ) / P(B)

P(A₂ | B) = 0.14 / 0.345

P(A₂ | B) = 0.406

For premium gas:

P(A₃ | B) = P( A₃ ∩ B ) / P(B)

P(A₃ | B) = 0.125 / 0.345

P(A₃ | B) = 0.362

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following information

40% of the customers use regular gas (A2)

P(A₁) = 0.40

35% use plus gas (A2)

P(A₂) = 0.35

25% use premium (A3)

P(A₃) = 0.25

Of those customers using regular gas, only 20% fill their tanks (event B).

P(B | A₁) = 0.20

Of those customers using plus, 40% fill their tanks

P(B | A₂) = 0.40

Whereas of those using premium, 50% fill their tanks.

P(B | A₃) = 0.5

a) What is the probability that the next customer will request plus gas and fill their tank?

We are asked to find P(A₂ ∩ B) = ?

Recall that Multiplicative law of probability is given by

P( A₂ ∩ B ) = P(B | A₂) × P(A₂)

P( A₂ ∩ B ) = 0.40 × 0.35

P( A₂ ∩ B ) = 0.14

b) What is the probability that the next customer fills the tank?

We are asked to find P(B) = ?

P(B) = P( A₁ ∩ B )  + P( A₂ ∩ B ) + P( A₃ ∩ B )

P( A₂ ∩ B ) is already calculated, we need to calculate

P( A₁ ∩ B ) and P( A₃ ∩ B )

So,

P( A₁ ∩ B ) = P(B | A₁) × P(A₁)

P( A₁ ∩ B ) = 0.20 × 0.40

P( A₁ ∩ B ) = 0.08

P( A₃ ∩ B ) = P(B | A₃) × P(A₃)

P( A₃ ∩ B ) = 0.50 × 0.25

P( A₃ ∩ B ) = 0.125

Finally,

P(B) = P( A₁ ∩ B )  + P( A₂ ∩ B ) + P( A₃ ∩ B )

P(B) = 0.08 + 0.14 + 0.125

P(B) = 0.345

c) If the next customer fills the tank, what is the probability that the regular gas is requested? Plus? Premium

For regular gas:

P(A₁ | B) = P( A₁ ∩ B ) / P(B)

P(A₁ | B) = 0.08 / 0.345

P(A₁ | B) = 0.232

For plus gas:

P(A₂ | B) = P( A₂ ∩ B ) / P(B)

P(A₂ | B) = 0.14 / 0.345

P(A₂ | B) = 0.406

For premium gas:

P(A₃ | B) = P( A₃ ∩ B ) / P(B)

P(A₃ | B) = 0.125 / 0.345

P(A₃ | B) = 0.362

Yuki888 [10]

Answer:

Adjusted bank balance $11,582

Adjusted book balance $11,582

Step-by-step explanation:

Preparation of bank reconciliation statements

DEL GATO CLINIC Bank Reconciliation

June 30

Bank statement balance $10,555

Add: Bank deposit $2,856

Total $13,411

Deduct: Outstanding checks $1,829

Adjusted bank balance $11,582

($13,411-$1,829)

DEL GATO CLINIC Bank Reconciliation

June 30

Book balance $11,589

Add: Error in check $9

($467-$476)

Deduct: Bank charges$16

Adjusted book balance $11,582

($11,589+$9-$16)

Therefore Adjusted bank balance will be $11,582 while Adjusted book balance will be $11,582
