Hi there! I am guessing that you are looking for the value of "a"!

Here we go :

2(a + 3) = -12

distribute the 2 to the entire parentheses

2 × a = 2a

2 × 3 = 6

2a + 6 = -12

subtract 6 on each side of the equation

2a = -18

divide both side of the equation by 2

a = -9

There you go! I really hope this helped, if there's anything just let me know! :)

First you divide by two from both sides of equation form.

And it gave us ⇒ \frac{2(a+3)}{2}= \frac{-12}{2}.

Then simplify.

And it gave us ⇒ \frac{2(a+3)}{2}=a+3, \frac{-12}{2}=-6, and a+3=-6.

Next, subtract by three from both sides of equation form.

And it gave us ⇒ a+3-3=-6-3.

Finally, simplify.

And it gave us ⇒ a=-9

Final answer: ⇒ \boxed{a=-9}

Hope this helps!

And thank you for posting your question at here on brainly, and have a great day.

A triangle with two vertices located at (5, −8) and (5, 4) has an area of 48 square units. Determine one possible location of th
RoseWind [281]

Answer:x=1.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Two points co-ordinates are given

A=(5,-8)

B=(5,4)

let other point be C =(x,y)

Area of triangle is given by

A=\begin{vmatrix}5& -8&1\\5& 4&1\\x& y&1\end{vmatrix}

A=5\left ( 4-y\right )+8\left ( 5-x\right )+1\left ( 5y-4x\right )

A=20-5y+40-8x+5y-4x

A=60-8x

and A=48 square unit

48=60-8x

x=1.5

As area is independent of y therefore at x=1.5 any value of y will give area of 48 square unit

The formula for the future value V (in dollars) of an investment earning simple interest is V=p+prt, where p (in dollars) is the
serious [3.7K]

Answer:

A. p=\dfrac{V}{1+rt}

B. $2,307.69

Step-by-step explanation:

You are given the formula

V=p+prt,

where V = investment earning simple interest

p = principal,

r = interest rate

t = time

So,

A. V=p(1+rt)\\ \\p=\dfrac{V}{1+rt}

B. r = 0.06 (or 6% as percent)

V = $3,000

t =5

so,

3,000=p+p\cdot 0.06\cdot 5\\ \\3,000=p+0.3p\\ \\1.3p=3,000\\ \\p=\dfrac{3,000}{1.3}\approx 2,307.69
