If a third plane could be drawn which contains both lines a and b, then lines a and b must be parallel. <span>if two lines do not intersect on the same plane, they are parallel. Furthermore, if a line is in a plane and another line is in a parallel plane, you cannot draw another plane </span><span>which contains both lines a and b, only if the lines are parallel.</span>

Since parallel lines need to be in the same plane, if there were a plane (the third one) that had both lines, this would meet the requirements for parallel lines. So its parallel.

<span>Two problems such as 150,000 + 150,000 = 300,001 and 500,000 - 200,000 = 300,000 could show that two problems can give the same result. A third could be 400,000 - 148,000 = 252,000 but rounds to 300,000 when rounded. All three give the same result when rounded to the nearest hundred thousand.</span>

Solve for x in the equation x^2-14+31=63
Bingel [31]
To solve for a variable, you need to get it (x) by itself.

x² - 14 + 31 = 63   Add 31 to -14
x² + 17 = 63   Subtract 17 from both sides of the equation
x² = 46   Square root both sides
x = \pm \sqrt{46}

Check your work by plugging in \sqrt{46} for x and then - \sqrt{46}.

\sqrt{46}² - 14 + 31 = 63   Square \sqrt{46}
46 - 14 + 31 = 63   Subtract 14 from 46
32 + 31 = 63   Add
63 = 63

- \sqrt{46}² - 14 + 31 = 63   Square - \sqrt{46}
46 - 14  + 31 = 63   Subtract 14 from 46
32 + 31 = 63   Add
63 = 63

So, x is \sqrt{46} and - \sqrt{46} .
