Gym class heroes/Robert burns compare and contrast
zhannawk [14.2K]

I searched the poem and song lyric and after reading both, Stereo Hear by Gym Class Heroes and A red, Red Rose by Robert Burns, I can compare and contrast this way:

COMPARING

• Both authors use the exaggeration technique to make emphasis on the intensity of their love.

• Both apply a combination of metaphor and simile in their lines.

• Both main characters of the song and poem are men talking to the woman they are in love with.

• Both are focusing on only one woman and not love in general.

CONTRASTING

• Stereo heart compares his heart to a stereo, explaining the way he loves and how nature it is while the Poem, A red red rose describes how he will love his lady till the end.

• Robert Burns in the poem is revealing/saying something to his lady while in the song, the author is mostly asking questions about what the woman will do.

Who plunged "into national debates over personal and political events in unprecedented ways"?
zzz [600]

Answer:

Betty Ford.

Explanation:

Betty Ford was the wife of Gerald R. Ford, the 38th President of the United States of America. She would become one of the most talked-about First Lady in the history of the Presidents of the United States.

While most First Ladies were often unseen and unspoken, Betty Ford would become the 'catalyst' that began an immense interest in the First Lady. Her cancer diagnosis resulted in many women across the country getting themselves checked led to her increased presence in the media. Moreover, she would get involved in many political as well as educational debates, at times delving into the personal space too.

Though her husband's presidency was not a result of an election but rather the resignation of the current President Richard Nixon, Betty Ford would become known as the woman who <em>"would plunge into national debates over personal and political events in unprecedented ways."</em>
