Answer:

The researcher has made a mistake chi-square statistic can never be negative

Step-by-step explanation:

Pearson's chi-squared test

\sum_{i=1}^kp_i=1

\sum_{i=1}^km_i=n\sum_{i=1}^kp_i=\sum_{i=1}^kx_i

\chi^2=\sum_{i=1}^k\frac{(x_i-m_i)^2}{m_i}=\sum_{i=1}^k\frac{x_i^2}{m_i}-n

Where

x_i= Observed numbers

n = Number of observations

k = Mutually exclusive classes

p_i= Probability of events

m_i=np_i

So, the value of χ² can never be negative otherwise χ value will be an imaginary number.

Determine the type and number of solutions of 4x^2-5x+1=0.
Arlecino [84]
<span>4x² - 5x + 1 = 0
a = 4; b = - 5, c = 1
</span>Δ = b² - 4.a.c
Δ = (-5)² - 4.4.1
Δ = 25 - 16
Δ = 9
<span>
x = - b </span>± √Δ / 2.a
x =  \frac{-5\± \sqrt{9} }{2*4}
x =  \frac{-5\±3}{8}
x' =  \frac{-5-3}{8} =  \frac{-8}{8} = -1
x' = \frac{-5+3}{8} = \frac{-2}{8} (\div2) = \frac{-1}{4}

A. Two real solutions (x' = -1 and x'' = -1/4)

If Quadrilateral Q is a scaled copy of Quadrilateral P created with a scale factor of 3
Stolb23 [73]
I don't see a drawing of the quadrilaterals, so I don't know what the perimeter of quadrilateral P is. But whatever the perimeter of P is, Q will be 1/3 of that. Perimeter is a length, so even though it may pertain to a 2-dimensional object, it is still a 1-dimensional, linear measure. When two objects are similar (same shape, but scaled up or down by a scale factor), all corresponding linear measures have the same scale factor.

If you were asked about area or volume, that would be a different matter. In the case of area, you would square the scale factor, and in the case of volume, you would cube the scale factor.

Help me pls, question is on the picture
Zinaida [17]

Answer:

I just learned this about a few weeks ago I hope this helps.

Step-by-step explanation:

Since it's cosine you're only looking at Adjacent and the hypotenuse which the adj is 20 and the hyp is 25 so since cosine is adj/hyp you do 20/25 then simplify it to 20/25 divide both by 5 so it's simplified to 4/5.

Then you do Cos-1(4/5)=36.869 which is rounded to the tenth 36.9 but rounded to the hundredth 36.87.

Hope this helps
