Mike and Beth are saving money to go to Disneyworld. They need at least $1975 in order to go. Mike mows yards and Beth will wash

cars to raise money. Mike charges $25 each time he mows a yard and Beth charges $15 for each car she washes. The number of cars that Beth wash is no more than four times the number of lawns Mike has scheduled to mow. Beth will wash at least 50 cars.Write a set of constraints to model the problem, with x representing the number of lawns mowed and y representing the number of dogs walked.

Let x represent the number of lawns mowed and y represent the number of cars washed.

1. Since the number of cars that Beth wash is no more than four times the number of lawns Mike has scheduled to mow, then y≤4x.

2. If Beth will wash at least 50 cars, then y≥50.

3. Mike charges $25 each time he mows a yard, so for x yards he will get $25x. Beth charges $15 for each car she washes, then the total amount of money she earns is $15y. Altogether they get $(25x+15y) that is at least $1975. This means that 25x+15y≥1975.

4. You get three inequalities:

\left\{\begin{array}{l}y\le 4x\\y\ge 50\\25x+15y\ge 1975\end{array}\right.

Sav [38]

<u>Answer:</u>

The correct answer option is 'Every tenth student in the main hallway between class.'

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Every tenth student in the main hallway between class would best represent the sample population since majority of the students transit this hallway unlike the rest of the options.

For instance, polling every tenth student in the library at lunch would result in the favor of views of students who frequently visit the library and polling every tenth student in the student section at the school football game would go in favor of those who prefer sports.

tamaranim1 [39]

Answer:

30/552

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to solve this problem you need to multiply the probability of getting grape for the first gumball with the probability of getting grape for the second gumball. Since there are 6 grape gumballs and a total of 24 gumballs (6*4). Then the probability of getting grape for the firs one is

\frac{6}{24}

Now there are only 5 grape gumballs available and one less in the total supply, therefore the probability of getting grape in the second try is

\frac{5}{23}

Finally we multiply them together to find the probability of getting two grapes in a row.

\frac{6*5}{24*23} = \frac{30}{552}
