Answer:

Factor of 1,120 are

             =2 × 2 × 2 × 2 × 2 ×5 × 7

So, we have to find dimensions of Length and Breadth , such that area of game board is 1,120 square inches.

There are many possible dimensions.

We will find the dimension of card board in terms of natural numbers such that difference between Length and breadth is Least.

One of the Possible Dimension can be

Length =7 × 5=35 inches

Breadth=2×2×2×2×2=32 inches

Other Possible dimension can be

Length=5×2×2×2=40

Breadth=7×2×2=28

So, selecting those dimension in which difference between Length and Breadth is Least

Length =35 inches

Breadth=32 inch

Expressing it in terms of , x

→Let ,Breadth =x inches

→Length =(x+3) inches

⇒Area of Square board which is in the shape of rectangle =Length × Breadth

→ 1120=x*(x+3)

Using Distributive property

→x²+3x=1120

→x²+3x-1120=0

Select the statement that describes this expression: 32 ÷ 4 + ( fraction 1 over 2 x 16) − 2
Veronika [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

32 ÷ 4 + (\frac{1}{2}*16) - 2 =   8 + (1*8) - 2

                                 = 8 + 8 - 2

                                 = 16 - 2

                                 = 14

Find an equation for the line below.
emmasim [6.3K]

Answer:

  y = -4/5x - 0.8

Step-by-step explanation:

A(-6, 4)

B(4, -4)

Find slope using the two points above:

m = (y₂ - y₁) / (x₂ - x₁)

   = (-4 - 4) / (4 - (-6))

   = -8 / 10

m = -4/5

Find y-intercept using m from above and anyone point, let's use (-6, 4):

y = mx + b

4 = -4/5(-6) + b

4 = 24/5 + b

b = -0.8

Use m and b from above to form equation of line:

y = mx + b

y = -4/5x - 0.8
