Polar bears have small and rounded ears. These ears are important because they help prevent water entering their ears which could then freeze and damage their ear drums. Also less body heat is lost out of the small ears. Other adaptations of the polar bear include hollow fur that traps hair inside.

Answer:

The polar bear's small ears and tail offer less surface area than large ears or tails, and help maintain body warmth. Fat. Polar bears have a layer of fat that can be four inches (10 cm) thick. Although their fur is the primary source of insulation, the fat helps keep heat in as well.

The classical point of view is that, during mitochondrial respiration, three ATP molecules can be generated from one molecule of
Stells [14]

Answer:

38

Explanation:

In eukaryotic cells, the maximum production of ATP molecules generated per glucose molecule during cellular respiration is 38, i.e., 2 ATP molecules from glycolysis, 2 ATP molecules from the Krebs cycle, and 34 ATP molecules from the Electron Transport Chain (ETC). In vivo (i.e., in the cell), this number is not reached because there is an energy cost associated with the movement of pyruvate (CH3COCOO−) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP) into the mitochondrial matrix, thereby the predicted yield is approximately 30 ATP molecules per glucose molecule. In aerobic bacteria, aerobic respiration of glucose occurs in the cytoplasm (since bacteria do not contain membrane-bound organelles such as mitochondria), and thereby, in this case, it is expected that aerobic respiration using glucose yields 38 ATP per glucose molecule.

Which part of a cell is used by a virus to produce its protective protein coat?
Nadusha1986 [10]

A ribosome is the part of a cell is used by a virus to produce its protective

protein coat.

Virus produces a protective protein coat known as capsids which serves as

a means of protection for the organism. The capsids are produced through

the organelle known as ribosome.,

The ribosome acts as a site for protein synthesis in organisms and the

capsids being made up of protein means the ribosome was used to

produce its protective protein coat.
