Can anybody help me solve for surface area?

(Formula=add all the areas of the faces)
TiliK225 [7]

Answer:

230.3cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

surface area: sum of all faces

base: 12 x 2.5 = 30cm^2

back: 84 cm ^2

cross section x 2 = 7 x 2.5 = 17.5

use Pythagoras theorem to find the width of slope: 7^2 + 2.5^2 = 49 + 6.25 = 55.25. square root of 55.25 = 7.4

so, area of slope : 7.4 x 12 = 88.8cm^2

sum of all areas: 114 + 106.3 = 230.3

On a centimeter dot grid draw all the possible rectangles with a perimeter of 14 cm and side whose lengths are whole centimeters
viva [34]

Answer:

ABCD ⇒ AB = 6 cm , AD = 1 cm

EFGH ⇒ EF = 5 cm , EH = 2 cm

IJKL ⇒ IJ = 3 cm , IL = 4 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

∵ The perimeter of the rectangle = 14 cm

∴ Length + width = 14/2 = 7

∴ The two sides can be :

 1 , 6 ⇒ p = 2(1 + 6) = 14 cm

 2 , 5 ⇒ p = 2(2 + 5) = 14 cm

 3 , 4 ⇒ p = 2(3 + 4) = 14 cm

The president of the student council wants to survey the student population. She decides to take a random sample of
OlgaM077 [116]

Using sampling concepts, it is found that the correct option regarding if this is a random sample is given by:

Yes, because the slips of paper were all the same shape and size.

How are samples classified?

Samples may be classified as:

 • Convenient: Drawn from a conveniently available pool.
 • Random: All the options into a hat and drawn some of them.
 • Systematic: Every kth element is taken.
 • Cluster: Divides population into groups, called clusters, and each element in the cluster is surveyed.
 • Stratified: Also divides the population into groups. Then, a equal proportion of each group is surveyed.

In this problem, since the slips have the same shape and size, each name has an equal probability of being chosen, hence it is a random sample and the correct option is:

Yes, because the slips of paper were all the same shape and size.
