Romans created a legal system that affected the development of most of the Western civilization as well as in parts of the East. The Roman law system was divided into just scriptum that was a written law and jus non scriptum, unwritten law (customs). People were a part of the process of creating “leges”, by assemblies of whole Roman people, there common people or plebeians had their own council. Romans were the first ones to creat a civil code that inspired the Napoleon Code which inspired many Civil Codes in the world. This was a strong contribution to our legal system and politics.
