Hey!

Hope this helps...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To find the answer of this we will have to this we will have to add each of the answers together...
To find Volume of a Cylinder: π(r^2)h
To find Volume of a Cone: π(r^2)(h/3)
Givens for a Cylinder: r= 2, h=3
Givens for both Cones: r=2, h=3
Cylinder:
V= π(r^2)h
V= π(2^2)3
V= π(4)3
V= 12π
Volume of both Cones added together:
V= (π(r^2)(h/3)) * 2
V= (π(2^2)(3/3)) * 2
V= (π(4)(1)) * 2
V= (π4) * 2
V= 8π
Volume for Whole Shape:
12π + 8π = 20π cm^3
So...
The answer is: C.) 20π cm^3
How do you do this?Can you help me with the steps? I don't really get this a lot
polet [3.4K]
Before you do the steps, change the fractions given to improper fractions:
2 2/3 = 8/3
3 1/6 = 19/6
Now, I think the first step they want you to write is:
8/3 (divided by) 19/6
When you divide two fractions, it's the same as multiplying the first fraction by the reciprocal of the second fraction. (A reciprocal is a fancy way of saying you flip the fraction)
So the next step will look like this:
8/3 x 6/19
With this setup, you can cross simplify the fractions so that they look like this:
8/1 x 2/19
When you multiply this, you get 16/19
