Answer:

(a) a= \frac{F}{m}

(b) a = \frac{1}{5} units.

(c) m = 10 units

Step-by-step explanation:

Force (F), mass (m) and acceleration (a) are related by the equation F = ma.

(a) We have to solve this equation for a.

So, F = ma ........ (1)

⇒ a= \frac{F}{m} ..... (2) (Answer)

(b) If F = 1 units and m = 5 units, then from equation (1), we get

a = \frac{1}{5} units. (Answer)

(c) If F = 25 units and a = 2.5 units.

Then from equation (1), we get,

m = \frac{F}{a} = \frac{25}{2.5} =10 units. (Answer)

What is 24/42 in the simplest form?
Virty [35]
24/42= 4/7

<span> To start divide both sides by 2  So 24/2=12 and then 42/2=21. So it would then be 12/21. Now both are divisible by 3 so you can divide each side by 3. So 12/3=4 and 21/3=7 so it would be 4/7. You can't-do anything further so that is the lowest term.</span>

If x=2/3 and x=-3 are the roots of the equation ax^2+7x+b=0 find the values of a and b
Gnesinka [82]

<u>ANSWER:  </u>

If x = \frac{2}{3} and x = -3 are the roots of the equation, then values of a and b are 3, -6

<u>SOLUTION: </u>

Given, quadratic equation is a x^{2}+7 x+b=0 and its roots are -3 , \frac{2}{3}

We know that, for any quadratic equation of form a x^{2}+b x+c=0 with roots x_{1} and x_{2} then,

Sum of roots (x_{1} +x_{2}) = \frac{-b}{a}

Product of roots ( x_{1} \times x_{2}) = \frac{c}{a}

Now, for given quadratic equation x_{1} = -3 and x_{2} = \frac{2}{3}

hence Sum of roots = \frac{-7}{a}

x_{1} + x_{2} = \frac{-7}{a}

-3 + \frac{2}{3} = \frac{-7}{a}

on solving we get "a" = 3

Now product of roots = x_{1} \times x_{2} = \frac{b}{3}

-3 \times \frac{2}{3} = \frac{b}{3}

b = -6

hence, the values of a and b are 3, -6.

2. Solve the following 10/12 - 4/3
Mama L [17]

The answer is -\frac{1}{2}

First you must change the fractions so that they have like denominators.

\frac{10}{12} -\frac{16}{12}

Then you subtract the fractions.

-\frac{6}{12}

Finally, you need to simplify the answer.

-\frac{1}{2}

For what value of x is the area of the rectangle greater than the perimeter? The base of the perimeter is x+2
TiliK225 [7]
If we call the area A, then A=7(x+2)=7x+14
if we call the perimeter P, then P=7*2+2(x+2)=2x+18
A>P
7x+14>2x+18
subtracting 14 gives 7x>2x+4
subtracting 2x gives 5x>4
dividing by 5 gives x>\frac{4}{5}
or x>0.8
