The early party, much like they are today, were heavily split between on how exactly the US Government should be run. The federalist party wanted a strong centralized government; basically they wanted to form a more democratic version of a King. Now the second party was the aptly named anti-federalists who wanted a weak centralized government with high amounts of personal freedom and states rights over federal power. A little fun fact is that in 1787 the federalist put a new constitution up for vote in Congress that essentially made the federal government be able to make all decisions how they saw fit and it was the opposition of the anti-federalists who prevented this and saw to it that our original constitution was kept. Also John Adams was a very staunch federalist.<span />

Assume The Government Is Running A Budget Deficit. Should The Government Raise Taxes To Balance The Budget? Should The Governmen
Amanda [17]
I personally think that both would be a good idea. It also depends on how bad the budget deficit is. if the government would raise taxes by like 1% it wouldn't be to bad. they could also not give as many funds to things that arn't important like maybe a science investigation that isn't very useful. but if they would decrease spendings on, for exaple medicare that would effect people in a not so good way. but if they raised taxes too much it could also effect people badly. hope this helped

RSB [31]

Answer:

Modest short term deterrent, but will need mass executions to be effective

Explanation:

The question has already been answered but I guess you need an explanation.

In the deterrence theory by Professor Land and his colleagues, they assumes that offenders are rational, I.e. they know the law and the penalties attached to defaulting the law..

They're are three points to take note of in this study;

1. For execution to have a deterrent effect, then it means a huge number of execution must have taken place

2. Most of any deterrent effect of execution of homicide occurs immediately after the execution is made public

3. 5 to 10 homicides would deterred in a year if there are 10 to 20 executions using 0.5 homicides deterred on a monthly basis.
