Colonial Georgia was one of the southern colonies in British America. The colony was established in the year 1732 and ended approximately 45 years later in the year 1777.
One of the main purpose for the establishment of the colony was for the colony to serve as a haven for English subjects who had been imprisoned for debt and the worthy poor.
