I believe that most people who discovered North America (or the new world) was mostly European people. England is included and Europe and Europeans had the most influence on America's laws, economy......etc. So if England wouldn't have not have explorers like Mary Kingsley, Henry Hudson, or David Livingstone, upcoming colonies like Jamestown (not saying it was founded by England explorers) wouldn't have any history on how to rule their government.
