1/2 IS the same as 0.5. Ratio is fairly easy. an example is 5/6. The ratio would be 5:6. Therefore 1/2 in ratio would be 1:2

Olenka [21]

Answer:

A

I think your question is lack of information:

After one hour, the hare had finished 2/3 of a 100-yard race. In that same time, the tortoise had finished 42 3/4 yards. How much farther had the hare run than the tortoise?

Step-by-step explanation:

In one hour:

  • The hare: 2/3 of 100-yard race = 200/3
  • The tortoise: 42 3/4 yards = 171/4

How much farther had the hare run than the tortoise =  200/3 - 171/4 ≈23 yards.
