Answer:

B

Explanation:

Using the relationship between E  and Q.

Let the magnitude of the frist charge be Q and the respective electric field be E.

E1/E2 = Q2/Q1

E2 = E1 x Q1/Q2

     = Ex Q/2Q

      = E/2

A site once used as an observatory by the Anasazi, ancient pueblo dwellers of New Mexico, has been recently discovered where pat
Artyom0805 [142]

Answer:

(C) At a recently discovered site once used as an observatory by the Anasazi, ancient pueblo dwellers of New Mexico, patterns of light and shadow were employed to establish the precise limits of the positions of the Sun and Moon over a nineteen-year cycle.

Explanation:

Option D does not convey the information that the site was once used as an observatory

Option E alters the meaning of the sentence. The two phrases, "....at a recently discovered place" and "....once used the site as an observatory", used together in this sentence bring about an unnecessary redundancy that change the meaning of the sentence.

The adjective "Where" is used to refer to the Anasazi, a population of humans. This is wrong.

Only option C clearly and correctly conveys the true meaning of the sentence.

does the pair of equilibria produced by a saddle-node bifurcation have to consist of one that is stable and one that is unstable
Amiraneli [1.4K]

This bifurcation is called a saddle-node bifurcation. In it, a pair of hyperbolic equilibria, one stable and one unstable, coalesce at the bifurcation point, annihilate each other and disappear.

<h3>What is a bifurcation equilibria?</h3>
  • The mathematical study of changes in a family of curves' qualitative or topological structure, such as the integral curves of a family of vector fields or the solutions to a family of differential equations, is known as bifurcation theory.
  • A bifurcation happens when a tiny, gradual change in a system's parameter values (the bifurcation parameters) results in an abrupt, "qualitative," or topological change in the system's behavior.
  • This term is most frequently used to refer to the mathematical study of dynamical systems.
  • Both continuous systems (represented by ordinary, delay, or partial differential equations) and discrete systems can experience bifurcations (described by maps).

The intensity of light from a star (its brightness) is the power it outputs divided by the surface area over which it’s spread:
kow [346]

Answer:

\frac{d_{1}}{d_{2}}=0.36

Explanation:

1. We can find the temperature of each star using the Wien's Law. This law is given by:

\lambda_{max}=\frac{b}{T}=\frac{2.9x10^{-3}[mK]}{T[K]} (1)

So, the temperature of the first and the second star will be:

T_{1}=3866.7 K

T_{2}=6444.4 K

Now the relation between the absolute luminosity and apparent brightness  is given:

L=l\cdot 4\pi r^{2} (2)

Where:

  • L is the absolute luminosity
  • l is the apparent brightness
  • r is the distance from us in light years

Now, we know that two stars have the same apparent brightness, in other words l₁ = l₂

If we use the equation (2) we have:

\frac{L_{1}}{4\pi r_{1}^2}=\frac{L_{2}}{4\pi r_{2}^2}

So the relative distance between both stars will be:

\left(\frac{d_{1}}{d_{2}}\right)^{2}=\frac{L_{1}}{L_{2}} (3)

The Boltzmann Law says, L=A\sigma T^{4} (4)

  • σ is the Boltzmann constant
  • A is the area
  • T is the temperature
  • L is the absolute luminosity

Let's put (4) in (3) for each star.

\left(\frac{d_{1}}{d_{2}}\right)^{2}=\frac{A_{1}\sigma T_{1}^{4}}{A_{2}\sigma T_{2}^{4}}

As we know both stars have the same size we can canceled out the areas.

\left(\frac{d_{1}}{d_{2}}\right)^{2}=\frac{T_{1}^{4}}{T_{2}^{4}}

\frac{d_{1}}{d_{2}}=\sqrt{\frac{T_{1}^{4}}{T_{2}^{4}}}

\frac{d_{1}}{d_{2}}=\sqrt{\frac{T_{1}^{4}}{T_{2}^{4}}}

\frac{d_{1}}{d_{2}}=0.36

I hope it helps!

What happens to the position of an object as an unbalanced force acts on it? Give an example.
Evgesh-ka [11]

Hi! I'm a few days late since I just saw this question just now, but I'll answer anyway.

Answer:

When an unbalanced force acts on a moving object, the velocity of the object will change. Change in velocity means a change in speed, direction, or both. For example, if you kick a soccer ball and it moves from one place to another, it means that unbalanced forces are acting upon it. The ball moves from one place to another after kicking it so the position changed.
