Strain theory is a sociology and criminology theory developed in 1938 by Robert K. Merton.[1] The theory states that society puts pressure on individuals to achieve socially accepted goals (such as the American dream), though they lack the means. This leads to strain which may lead individuals to commit crimes, like selling drugs or becoming involved in prostitution as a means to gain financial security.[1]

Strain could be:

Structural: this refers to the processes at the societal level which filter down and affect how the individual perceives his or her needs, i.e. if particular social structures are inherently inadequate or there is inadequate regulation, this may change the individual's perceptions as to means and opportunities; or
Individual: this refers to the frictions and pains experienced by an individual as he or she looks for ways to satisfy his or her needs, i.e. if the goals of a society become significant to an individual, actually achieving them may become more important than the means adopted.

Answer:

The most convenient time to provide feedback to an upset employee regarding an specific situation can be at the end of the day or the beginning of the next day prior the start of the day.

Explanation:

An upset employee can create serious problems to customers and coworkers, and as employers we don't have a proper way to determine the cause. If the nature of the job is critic he must be on his feet right away and show an opposite behavior, if it is a customer service job related he must take a break and wait for the superior feedback and further instructions to avoid that kind of situation.

The mineral diamond is made entirely of carbon. It is the most well-known gemstone and the hardest material that exists in nature. Diamonds have a variety of significant industrial uses because of their high hardness. Diamonds are the finest stones due to their rarity, hardness, and brightness.

The diamond, the April birthstone, is said to symbolize unwavering love in the symbolism of gemstones. One point equals 0.1 carats when weighing diamonds, which are measured in both carats and points. Several types of industrial diamonds exist in addition to gem-quality stones, and since 1960, synthetic diamonds have been created on a large scale.

Which of the following represents a typical response when people are asked why they had children? Select one:
Naya [18.7K]

Answer:

<em>The correct option is a. "I was young, but I was ready."</em>

Explanation:

Many people have the typical response that the reason for them having children was that although they were young yet they still considered themselves to be ready to become parents.

Although some people really mean what they say others just tend to blurt the statement out because it is a typical one and is abundantly used. However, a person should try to wait until he/she is ready in all aspects to become a mother or a father.
