Salt water is a _____ environment for a cell because the concentration of salt is greater outside the cell then inside it

Answer:

Hypertonic

Explanation:

The hypertonic environment is an environment in which the number of solute (salt) particles outside the cell are greater than their number inside. In other words, if the extracellular fluid has a higher salt concentration than the cell’s internal environment (cytoplasm), the condition is called as hypertonic. The word "hyper" means "greater".

In a hypertonic environment, water from the cell's internal environment moves outside the cell to dilute the outer concentration. This is because of fundamental principles of homeostasis where maintenance of internal environment with respect to the external environment is very crucial.

In contrast to the hypertonic environment is the hypotonic environment in which there is more salt concentration inside the cell than the outside. Thus, water will move inside the cell to dilute it further. This condition sometimes leads to bursting of the cell because of continuous water movement inside the cell.

Does a moving magnetic field creat a megnetic field
faust18 [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

A moving charge causes a magnetic field and a moving magnet causes an electric field. If you change your frame of reference to that of the charged particle, the magnetic field disappears. Same is true for the magnet. Changing your reference frame to that of the magnet will make the electric field disappear.

Suppose you have one plant with the genotype TTPpYy, and another plant that is recessive for all three traits. If you were to cr
musickatia [10]

Answer:

16/64 = 1/4

Explanation:

This is a typical trihybrid cross involving three genes T, P and Y. A plant with genotype TTPpYy is crossed with a plant recessive for all traits (ttppyy).

According to Mendel's law of independent assortment, each allele for each gene will get sorted into the following 8 gametes with only 4 different: TPY, TPy, TpY, Tpy, TPY, TPy, TpY and Tpy.

The recessive parent, ttppyy will produce tpy, tpy, tpy, tpy, tpy, tpy, tpy and tpy.

Hence, using a punnet square, 64 offsprings will be produced with only 16 of them heterozygous dominant for the three traits with genotype (TtPpYy). Hence, proportion is 16/64 equivalent to 1/4.

When viewing a dissected heart, it is easy to visually discern the right and left ventricles by ________. A. finding the papilla
Alecsey [184]

Answer:

Option (B).

Explanation:

Heart is the main pumping organ of the body. The human heart is divided into four chambers that are right atria, right ventricles, left atria and left ventricles.

The left and right ventricles can easily be distinguished on the basis of their thickness. The right ventricle is less thicker than left ventricle. The thickness of right ventricle is 9mm whereas the thickness of left ventricle is around 40mm.

Thus, the correct answer is option (B).
