That's a really good question, I don't have the exactl answer but I will tell you my opinion , I think because each cell have diploid 2n number of chromosomes, this means each cell have 2 homologous chromosomes these chormosomes might have different alleles for the same trait, and by undergoing meiosis the number decrease to 1n hiploid so one chromosome of the two homologous one will disappear from the cell, this could lead to appearance of a recessive character to appear, I hope that this help although basically crossing over is the main reason for genetic variation in the cell so...

vivado [14]
Response to the first question (I don't quite know how to explain the second): (Here's my simple version, just based off of common sense and background knowledge rather than a textbook. Hope it works!)
Gender is determined by the X and Y chromosomes. Females are XX, males are XY. Since there is already a ratio of 3:1 X:Y chromosomes, meaning that there are many more X chromosomes than Y chromosomes, it is more likely for the child to be female, because they are more likely to get two X chromosomes.

Studentka2010 [4]

As people age there one become more porous due to loss of calcium and phosphate and osteoporosis.

Explanation:

Osteoporosis is a condition in which the bones become brittle and easy to break on injury which results due to the loss of calcium from the bones. Many health problems and aging can lead to the disease of osteoporosis like breast cancer, prostrate cancer, depression, rheumatoid arthritis, Sickle Cell disease, Parkinson's disease, thalassemia, and many others.

The decreased density of the bone can be detected with the help of bone density x-ray. In females osteoporosis is common after menopause in which the drop of estrogen hormone levels cause the loss of calcium absorption in the bones.
