Answer: The value of x is 11 and the measure of each sides are, 74 cm,74 cm and 37 cm.

Explanation:

It is given that in triangle CDE is an isosceles triangle with CD congruent to DE. If CD equals 9x - 25, DE equals 6X + 8, CE equals 10 x - 73.

Since,

CD=DE

9x-25=6x+8

Separate like terms and combined them.

9x-6x=25+8

3x=33

x=11

Therefore, the value of x is 11.

The measures of all sides are,

CD=9x-25=9(11)-25=99-25=74cm

DE=6x+8=6(11)+8=66+8=74cm

CE=10x-73=10(11)-73=110-73=37cm

Therefore the measure of each sides are 74 cm,74 cm and 37 cm.

nirvana33 [79]
The ball is at a height of 14 feet after 1.17 and 0.64 seconds.

This is an example of a quadratic equation. Write out the equation with 14 in the place of the height. Then, set it equal to zero.

14 = 2 + 29t - 16t^2

0 = -16t^2 + 29t -12

Now, we can use the quadratic equation to solve.
A = -16
B = 29
C = -12

You will get the solutions of 1.17 and 0.64.

An ongoing promotion at a department store gives customers 20\%20%20, percent off the portion of their bill that is over \$100$1
gtnhenbr [62]

The equation best models the situation 100 + 0.8(x - 100) = 250.

The correct option is (D)

What is equation?

An equation in math is an equality relationship between two expressions written on both sides of the equal to sign.

The complete question is:

An ongoing promotion at a department store gives customers 20% off the portion of their bill that is over $100. Ruby's total bill at the department store after the promotion has been applied is $250. If x represents the amount of money Ruby would have spent on the same purchase at the department store without the promotion, which of the following equations best models the situation?

A. 0.2x + 100 = 250

B. 0.8x + 100 = 250

C. 100 + 0.2(x - 100) = 250

D. 100 + 0.8(x - 100) = 250

Given:

Department store gives 20 % off the portion of the bill that is over 100 dollars.

Total bill = 250

let x is the amount of money she would have spent without the promotion.

Then, cost after discount applies = 0.8 ( x - 100 ).

Hence, the equation is 100 + 0.8 (x - 100) = 250.
