You were so close.
You found 80% of 5200 students, but that is the percentage of the students who passed. Since 80% of the students passed, 20% students should be ones who failed.

20% = 0.2
Therefore, 5200 x 0.2 = 1040

1040 students failed. :)

You are close but you got the ones who passed,but not the ones who failed I divided 80/100×5200/1 =4160 you subtract that from the total 5200 which is 1040 :-| 1040 had failed

Factor quadratic equation 6x.squared +41x + 63 = 0
vlabodo [156]

Answer:

x1= -9/2 ; x2= -7/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Rewrite to 6x^2 + 27x +14x +63 = 0

Factor and get 3x(2x + 9) + 7(2x + 9) = 0

Factor again and get (2x + 9)(3x + 7) = 0

Separate into possible cases -> 2x + 9 = 0; 3x + 7 = 0

The equation has two solutions: x1 = -9/2 and x2 = -7/3

Hope this helped!!
