Answer: Interquartile range is 4.75.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Data set  {48, 50, 65, 60, 80, 42, 45, 50, 42, 55, 45}.

To find : What is the interquartile range of the data set?

Solution : We have Data set  {12 ,14, 16, 17.5 ,10 ,18, 15, 15.5 ,19 }.

Order the number:

10, 12, 14, 15, 15.5, 16, 17.5, 18, 19.

Median : (10, 12, 14, 15,) 15.5,( 16, 17.5, 18, 19).

15.5 is the median .

Median of first quartile Q1 : \frac{12+14}{2} =13

Median of second quartile Q2 : \frac{17.5+18}{2}=17.75.

Interquartile range = Q2-Q1  = 17.75 - 13 = 4.75.

Therefore, Interquartile range is 4.75.

Suppose an astronaut can jump vertically with an initial velocity of 5 m/s. The time that it takes him to touch the ground is gi
Vitek1552 [10]

Answer:

t=1.020s

Step-by-step explanation:

Given Equation:

5t-0.5at^{2} =0

Actually the given equation is the 2nd equation of motion

i.e. S =V_{i} t+0.5at^{2}

where S=0 because the astronaut jumps on the earth

and initial velocity V_{i}=5

to find time t, put the given value of a=9.8m/s^{2} in the given equation, we get

5t-0.5(9.8)t^{2} =0\\t(5-4.9t)=0\\ \ dividing\ both\ sides\ by\ t\ we \ get\\ 5-4.9t=0\\4.9t=5\\t=\frac{5}{4.9}\\ t=1.020s

it will take t=1.020s to reach the ground if he jumps on the Earth

Farmer frank is planting corn in a three-acre field.He will plant a total of 347 rows with 270 corn plants in each row.How many
iren [92.7K]
This is simple long multiplication. 347 x 270 is 93,690. Then you divide this number by the amount of acres, in this case, 3. So 93,690/3 is 31,230. Hope this helped

Using the probability concept, considering complementary probabilities, there is a 0.12 = 12% probability that the integer is of 20 or more.

<h3>What is a probability?</h3>

A probability is given by the <u>number of desired outcomes divided by the number of total outcomes</u>.

If two events are complementary, the <u>sum of their probabilities is of 1</u>. In this problem, we have that an integer being less than 20 is complementary to an integer being 20 or more.

We have that:

  • There is a 0.88 probability that the number is less than 20.
  • There is a x probability that the number is 20 or more.

These events are complementary, hence:

0.88 + x = 1

x = 1 - 0.88

x = 0.12

There is a 0.12 = 12% probability that the integer is of 20 or more.
