It might be a little tedious, but i think the easiest to understand is this way

first find what 4% of 24000 is. you can do this by simply multiplying 24000 by .04 which is 960. the new population for 2011 is 24960, and you again find what 4% of it is. Which is 998 people. In 2012, there will be 25958 people. Find 4% of that which is 1038 people. add it to 25958 & you get 26996 which is the estimate for how many people there will be in 2013. Not the easiest way, but i don't remember exactly how to do these problems, but this also works

When using a calculator I got: 26996.736

However since it's people you should round to: 26997.

Solve for x. Show your work with proper statements and notation.
9966 [12]

Answer:

x = 26

Step-by-step explanation:

The sum of the angles around point O = 360°, thus

x + 3x + 256 = 360 , that is

4x + 256 = 360 ( subtract 256 from both sides )

4x = 104 ( divide both sides by 4 )

x = 26

Find the solution of the given initial value problems in explicit form. Determine the interval where the solutions are defined.
natali 33 [55]

Answer:

The solution of the given initial value problems in explicit form is y=x-x^2-2  and the solutions are defined for all real numbers.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given differential equation is

y'=1-2x

It can be written as

\frac{dy}{dx}=1-2x

Use variable separable method to solve this differential equation.

dy=(1-2x)dx

Integrate both the sides.

\int dy=\int (1-2x)dx

y=x-2(\frac{x^2}{2})+C                  [\because \int x^n=\frac{x^{n+1}}{n+1}]

y=x-x^2+C              ... (1)

It is given that y(1) = -2. Substitute x=1 and y=-2 to find the value of C.

-2=1-(1)^2+C

-2=1-1+C

-2=C

The value of C is -2. Substitute C=-2 in equation (1).

y=x-x^2-2

Therefore the solution of the given initial value problems in explicit form is y=x-x^2-2 .

The solution is quadratic function, so it is defined for all real values.

Therefore the solutions are defined for all real numbers.
