let's notate it with letters to I can notate it in this problem

the plus is P

the circle is C

the square is S

the smiley face is F (for face)

the triangle is T

in all, we see that:

circle can't be next to the smiley face or the triangle or the square so it must be at the end next to to the plus sign but we don't know if it is at the right end or the left (____P C or C P____)

plus is not next to smiley face or triangle, so it must be next to the square (___S P C or C P S___)

triangle is to the right of the square, so we have to choose the guess that has an empty space to the right of the square, so it has to be C P S T __

then the last shape is the smiley face which goes in the last space

so the order is C P S T F or circle, plus, square, triangle smiley face

First, let's turn all the numbers into improper fractions so that we can find the answer easier.

-2 \frac{1}{4} = r - \frac{4}{5}

-\frac{9}{4} = r - \frac{4}{5}

Now we have to isolate 'r'.

First, we have to make sure that the variable is on one side and all the numbers are on the other side.

To do this, we have to add \frac{4}{5} to both sides.

In order to do this, we need to ensure that both fractions have a common denominator.

-\frac{9}{4} = r - \frac{4}{5}

Ensure that the denominators are the same:

\frac{45}{20} = r - \frac{16}{20}

\frac{45}{20} + \frac{16}{20} = r

\frac{61}{20} = r

Good luck!

What is the measurement of BC to the nearest centimeter?
77julia77 [94]

Answer:

a   8

Step-by-step explanation:

You are given two sides and the included angle. Since you don't have any side and the opposite angle, you must use the law of cosines.

a^2 = b^2 + c^2 - 2bc\cos A

a^2 = 5^2 + 11^2 - 2(5)(11)\cos 39^\circ

a^2 = 25 + 121 - 110\cos 39^\circ

a^2 = 60.51

a = 7.779

Answer: a = 8 cm

Olegator [25]

Answer:

4 5/6

Step-by-step explanation:

The fraction you have is 58 square feet /12 hour how many times does 12 go into 58 it goes into 58 evenly 4 times 4*12=48

58/12 - 48/12 = 10/12 which can be reduced to 5/6 because 2 goes into 10 and 12 evenly
