Answer:

Reasons for Colonists against England:

1. High Tariff Taxes.

2. Disputed Claims on the Continent.

4. Religious Tensions and Resentment of Canada.

Reasons for South against Union:

1. Centralization v.s. States Rights.

2. Slavery.

3. Cultural Differences.

4. Religion.

Explanation:

There are many alikes and differences between the two revolutions. The most common cause was "tension" between the two sides that fought for contrasting yet similar reasons. Colonists were trying to escape the rules from England, such as the South trying to pry itself from the North's laws. All the goals that the colonists were trying to acheive were for all their representation, not discluding any peers. The South however were using their objectives to intentionally continue the crimes and free labor against african americans, not for their own freedom.

Why would americans might have felt threatened by foreign ideas?
coldgirl [10]
American people generally believe that the ideals of the founding fathers are the best ideals because of things such as democracy, unalienable rights, the constitution with its amendments, and similar things. Whenever someone would show up who would claim otherwise that person would be accused of being a traitor or a spy or something similar. This was especially important during the red scare when they tried to fight communists in the US more than anything else.
