To support a choking infant, Fernando held the infant, face down, with one hand, placing her torso on his forearm and his forear

m on his thigh. He slapped the infant five times between her shoulder blades with the heel of his other hand. When this did not expel the object, he turned her face up, supporting the back of her head with his hand. He did 5 two-finger chest thrusts, but the infant became unresponsive. Fernando then held the infant in his arms until the paramedics came.

Answer:

Fernando should have performed CPR when the infant was unresponsive.

Explanation:

I just completed this on edge and learned that he did everything correct, up to the point of not doing anything until the paramedics came. When anyone is unresponsive, and not breathing, you should perform CPR as soon as you can.
