During the time of the Great Depression many americans relied on crops and farming for income. The drought caused farming to become diffucult and killed off many of the crops so several families had no money coming in.
Most women were stuck at home, and were usually the ones to get an education. The had to work house work, or later work in many factories, with un equal pay. Many women had fought hard for their rights, but men saw women education not needed, as they felt all the women just need to supply food and take care of the children and house and nothing else.
