20 minutes( 0.3333 hours) after they leave the station will they be 50 km apart, if the Two trains on opposite tracks leave the same station at the same time. One train travels at an average speed of 80 km/hr and the other travels at an average speed of 70 km/hr.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given is,

                   One train travels at an average speed of 80 km/hr

                   The other travels at an average speed of 70 km/hr

Step:1

      Formula to calculate the distance traveled by two trains,

      Distance traveled by two trains = (Rate of speed of train one +

                                                           Rate of speed of other train) × Time

         From the given the above equation becomes,

         Let, h = Time taken to each the distance

                                          50 = ( 80 + 70 ) h

                                            50 = (150) h

                                               h = \frac{50}{150}

                                                  = 0.3333 hours

                                                  = ( 0.333 × 60 )          ( ∵ 1 hr = 60 minutes )

                                                h = 20 minutes

Step:2

            Check for solution,

            From equation (1),

                           50 = ( 80+70 ) (0.3333)

                           50 = (150)(0.3333)

                           50 = 50

Result:

          20 minutes( 0.3333 hours) after they leave the station will they be 50 km apart.

The number of right-handed students in a math class is nine times the number of left-handed students. The total number of studen
nirvana33 [79]
R - Right Handed
L - Left Handed

R = 9L ( the number of right handed kids is equal to having 9*number of left handed kids)
9L + L = 30  ( since total number of people in class is 30)
10L = 30
( Divide by 10 both sides )
L = 3

so... There are 3 Left Handed kids and 27 Right Handed kids ( since R = 9L , R = 9(3) = 27)

Hope this helped!

Find the average value of the function f(t)=cos13(5t)sin(5t) f(t)=cos13⁡(5t)sin⁡(5t) on the interval [4,10].
Vilka [71]
The average value is given by

\displaystyle\frac1{10-4}\int_4^{10}\cos^{13}5t\sin5t\,\mathrm dt

Setting y=\cos5t, you get \mathrm dy=-5\sin5t\,\mathrm dt, and the integral becomes

\displaystyle-\frac1{30}\int_{\cos20}^{\cos50}y^{13}\,\mathrm dy
=-\dfrac1{30}\dfrac{y^{14}}{14}\bigg|_{y=\cos20}^{y=\cos50}
=-\dfrac{\cos^{14}50-\cos^{14}20}{420}\approx-0.00145

Katyanochek1 [597]

Answer:

a) The confidence interval is 0.00\leq\pi_1-\pi_2\leq0.02.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have to calculate a confidence interval (CI) of a difference of proportions.

For the existing procedure, the proportion is:

p_1=75/1500=0.05

For the new procedure, the proportion is:

p_2=80/2000=0.04

To calculate the CI, we need to estimate the standard deviation

s=\sqrt{\frac{p_1(1-p_1)}{n_1} +\frac{p_2(1-p_2)}{n_2} }\\\\s=\sqrt{\frac{0.05(1-0.05)}{1500} +\frac{0.04(1-0.04)}{2000} }=\sqrt{ 0.000032 + 0.000019 }=\sqrt{  0.000051 }\\\\s=0.007

For a 90% CI, the z-value is 1.64.

Then, the CI is:

(p_1-p_2)-z*\sigma \leq\pi_1-\pi_2\leq(p_1-p_2)+z*\sigma \\\\(0.05-0.04)-1.64*0.007\leq\pi_1-\pi_2\leq(0.05-0.04)+1.64*0.007\\\\0.01-0.01\leq\pi_1-\pi_2\leq0.01+0.01\\\\0.00\leq\pi_1-\pi_2\leq0.02
