Answer:

Generally speaking, athletes train to increase performance. Performance increases are achieved through increased training loads. Increased loads are tolerated only through interspersed periods of rest and recovery—training periodization. Overreaching is considered an accumulation of training load that leads to performance decrements requiring days to weeks for recovery. Overreaching followed by appropriate rest can ultimately lead to performance increases. However, if overreaching is extreme and combined with an additional stressor, overtraining syndrome (OTS) may result  OTS may be caused by systemic inflammation and subsequent effects on the central nervous system, including depressed mood, central fatigue, and resultant neurohormonal changes

Answer:

Overtraining occurs when a person exceeds their body's ability to recover from strenuous exercise.. Overtraining can be described as a point where a person may have a decrease in performance and plateauing as a result of failure to consistently perform at a certain level or training load; a load which exceeds their recovery capacity.

Explanation:

People who are overtrained cease making progress, and can even begin to lose strength and fitness. Overtraining is also known as chronic fatigue, burnout and overstress in athletes.

It is suggested that there are different variations of overtraining, firstly monotonous program over training suggest that repetition of the same movement such as certain weight lifting and baseball batting can cause performance plateau due to an adaption of the central nervous system which results from a lack of stimulation.

It is important to note the difference between overtraining and over-reaching; over-reaching is when an athlete is undergoing hard training but with adequate recovery, overtraining however, is when an athlete is undergoing hard training without the adequate recovery. With over-reaching, the consequential drop in performance can be resolved in a few days or weeks.

"Different tissues of the body all have relatively the same risk for cancer, yet they develop different forms of cancer."
telo118 [61]

Answer:

False.

Explanation:

Different tissues of the body do not have relatively the same risk for cancer. There are body tissues, such as the ones that are in the anus-rectum area, or ectocervix and the supravaginal portion of the cervix that are prone to develop cancer due to the battle between the two different types of tissues in these areas, that is to say, that they are constantly trying to grow over the other tissue, this constant cell division can cause cancer.

Which of the following reflects a self-serving bias?
RideAnS [48]

Answer:

c. being turned down for a job and believing that the interviewer was biased against you.

Explanation:

Selfish bias refers to our tendency to take personal credit for success while blaming external sources for our failures. Essentially, we tend to believe that our successes are due to internal characteristics and talents, while our failures are caused by variables beyond our control. An example of this occurs when you are turned down in a job and instead of acknowledging your failure you place the blame on the interviewer by stating that he was biased against you.

When a person leaves the scene of an accident after having given care, but before other help arrives it is: A. Neglect B. Abando
abruzzese [7]
Abandonment. Because while they they a good act by giving care, they still didn’t make sure they got the proper help once they left. Who knows what could have happened. It wouldn’t be neglect since they didn’t neglect them in the first place. It wouldn’t be Good Samaritan either since they left, even though they did do a good action by giving care. it just isn’t 100%. and consent has nothing to do with anything in this question. so i would say abandonment.
