A barometer is a scientific device used to measure air pressure during weather analysis. Even though changes in air pressure can indicate changes in the weather, the results of the barometer are not enough to track the activity of storms at different altitudes. In order to track the activity of storms, meteorologists need more sophisticated instruments such as remote sensing by satellites and aircraft equipment.
