Answer:

95082.787-1.782\frac{1857.716}{\sqrt{13}}=94164.485

95082.787+1.782\frac{1857.716}{\sqrt{13}}=96001.089

So on this case the 90% confidence interval would be given by (94164.485;96001.089)

Explanation:

Previous concepts

A confidence interval is "a range of values that’s likely to include a population value with a certain degree of confidence. It is often expressed a % whereby a population means lies between an upper and lower interval".

The margin of error is the range of values below and above the sample statistic in a confidence interval.

Normal distribution, is a "probability distribution that is symmetric about the mean, showing that data near the mean are more frequent in occurrence than data far from the mean".

\bar X=95082.787 represent the sample mean

\mu population mean (variable of interest)

s=1857.716 represent the sample standard deviation

n=13 represent the sample size

The confidence interval for the mean is given by the following formula:

\bar X \pm t_{\alpha/2}\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}} (1)

In order to calculate the critical value t_{\alpha/2} we need to find first the degrees of freedom, given by:

df=n-1=13-1=12

Since the Confidence is 0.90 or 90%, the value of \alpha=0.1 and \alpha/2 =0.05, and we can use excel, a calculator or a table to find the critical value. The excel command would be: "=-T.INV(0.05,12)".And we see that t_{\alpha/2}=1.782

Now we have everything in order to replace into formula (1):

95082.787-1.782\frac{1857.716}{\sqrt{13}}=94164.485

95082.787+1.782\frac{1857.716}{\sqrt{13}}=96001.089

So on this case the 90% confidence interval would be given by (94164.485;96001.089)

Madrid Company plans to issue 9% bonds with a par value of $5,300,000. The company sells $4,770,000 of the bonds at par on Janua
ASHA 777 [7]

Answer and Explanation:

The journal entry are as follows

1. Interest expense $214,650

       To Cash $214,650

(Being the first interest payment is recorded)

The computation is shown below

= $4,770,000 × 9%  × 6 months ÷ 12 months

= $214,650

For recording this we debited the interest expense as it increased the expenses while on the other hand the cash is paid which reduced the cash balance so it is credited

2. Cash $530,000

      To Bond payable $530,000

(Being the cash sale of bond is recorded)

For recording this we debited the cash as cash is received that increased the cash balance and at the same time we credited the bond payable

Which of the following is false regarding the FIFO inventory method?
puteri [66]

Answer: All of the other answer choices are true.

Explanation:

FIFO simply refers to “First-In, First-Out” and the method assumes that the oldest goods that are in the inventory of a company have been sold first and therefore, the costs that are paid for them will be used for the calculation.

The following are true regarding the FIFO method:

• FIFO under a perpetual inventory system results in the same cost of goods sold as FIFO under a periodic inventory system.

• A company can choose to account for the flow of inventory using the FIFO method even if this doesn’t match the actual flow of its inventory.

• Perishable goods often follow an actual physical flow that is consistent with the FIFO method assumptions.

Therefore, the correct option is D as all are true.
