Throughout Alice Walker's literary works she uses her characters and her stories to help show the strength of women as they overcome the abuses men and society place on them. Walker shows this theme through her diction, literary devices, and imagery. These women have suffered physical and verbal abuse from men and from society. They have been discriminated against for the color of their skin and also for being females in a male-dominated society. Walker uses this theme to comment on social injustices during that time. Not only are blacks considered to be the lowest in society, but women are even lower than black men. Walker comments on the mistreatment women deal with, they are used to sex and pleasure, raising children, keeping the house, farming the land, cooking meals, and are also punching bags for men. Women were expected to do what they were told and keep quiet. They were meant to be seen working but never heard. Women did not have a voice during this period in society, but Walker showed the reader what women really wanted to say during their lives. This story is a prime example of how women are oppressed by men in this society and far from discussing their strength and bravery it shows how they just become pedestals for the men in their lives and useful only to ride like kids riding a wooden rocking horse until the men are satisfied.

he says he passed by the Ewell house every day on his way to work at Mr. Link Deas's farm, where Tom picks cotton and does other farm work. Tom confirms that one day last spring, Mayella asked him to chop up an old chiffarobe with a hatchet, but that was long before the November day in question. After Tom performed that favor for her, Mayella often asked him to help her with odd jobs around the house as he passed by. She offered him a nickel the first time, but he refused payment, knowing that the family had no money. He said he helped her out because she didn't seem to have anyone else to help her, and that he never went onto the Ewell property without being invited.
Answer:
Reporters.
Explanation:
This one was a little harder because it could be either journalists or reporters interchangeably, since they are just about the same thing. The only reason reporters is the correct one here is because journalism ranges from news/opinion/article writing and other press work such as on-site interviews mentioned above. It's too vague in comparison. Reporters, however, are more specific and work a more limited job of reporting on camera and holding interview sessions with important figures for a news story solely.
Also, the definition for "media representative" is an individual employed by a civilian radio or television station, newspaper, news company, magazine, periodical, or news agency to gather and report on a newsworthy event.
So, in this case, the best definition of that would be reporter.
