Hey there..
Let's solve this problem together

question -- > 3 - 8c = 35
So first we need the c term on one side and all other terms on the other. In this question we have just 1 c term so we will keep it on the same side were it is right now.
Also, to do that we need to subtract 3 from both sides.
-3 + 3 - 8c = 35 - 3
-8c = 32

Step 2 --> dividing both sides by -8 to get the value of c.
\frac{-8c}{-8} = \frac{32}{-8}
c = -4 Answer

Therefore, value of c = -4

Hope this helped you..  :-)

3-8=-5
add 5 to both sides
-5+5=0
35+5=40
so c=40

Which points are exactly 10 units from the point (–8, –2)? Check ALL that apply.
Archy [21]

Answer:

The points that are exactly 10 units from the point (–8, –2) are (2, –2)  and (–8, 8).

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance formula is;

                               d= \sqrt{( x_{2}-x_{1} )^{2}-(y_{2} -y_{1} )^{2}   }

So for distance between: (–8, –2)  and (2, –2) is:

                             d=  \sqrt{( 2-(-8))^{2}-(-2 -(-2) )^{2}   }

                             d= \sqrt{100}

                            d= 10 unit

Similarly for distance between: (–8, –2) and (–8, 8) is,

                                d=  \sqrt{( -8-(-8))^{2}-(8 -(-2) )^{2}   }

                               d= \sqrt{100}

                               d= 10 unit
