Find the average value of f over region

Mathematics

The average value of f(x,y) over the region \mathcal D is

\dfrac{\displaystyle\iint_{\mathcal D}f(x,y)\,\mathrm dx\,\mathrm dy}{\displaystyle\iint_{\mathcal D}\mathrm dx\,\mathrm dy

We can describe the region \mathcal D as the set

\{(x,y)\mid0\le x\le1,\,0\le y\le8x\}

So the integral in the numerator is

\displaystyle\iint_{\mathcal D}5xy\,\mathrm dx\,\mathrm dy=5\int_{x=0}^{x=1}\int_{y=0}^{y=8x}xy\,\mathrm dy\,\mathrm dx=40

The integral in the denominator is the same as the area of \mathcal D, which is a right triangle, so it's easy to compute

\displaystyle\iint_{\mathcal D}\mathrm dx\,\mathrm dy=\frac12\cdot1\cdot8=4

So the average value is \dfrac{40}4=10.

Answer:

The 1/4th power means the 4th root of a number.

Therefore for the first question, the answer should be 4th root of 1296 -4th root of 625. or \sqrt[4]{1296}

4

1296

-\sqrt[4]{625}

4

625

:D

For the second question just calculate? what to the 4th power is 1296 and what to the 4th power is 625?

They should respectively be 6 and 5. So the final answers we get is 6-5=1

If you have any questions about this just ask me in the comment and I will get to it as soon as I could.

hopecthis helps

Answer:

6 units

Step-by-step explanation:

use the distance formula to find the new length of JK, which is J'K'

d = \sqrt{(y-y)^2+(x-x)^2}

coordinates of J: (-7,3)

coordinates of J': (-7/2, 3/2)

coordinates of K: (3/2, -3/2)

d = \sqrt{(-3/2-3/2)^2+(3/2-(-3/2)^2}

d = \sqrt{(-6/2)^2+(-10/2)^2}

d = \sqrt{3^2+5^2}

d = \sqrt{36}

d = 6

The perimeter of a rectangular banner is 72 inches. The width of the banner is 1/3 its length. What is the area of the banner? T
Gre4nikov [31]
To find the area you will need to begin with the information about the perimeter.  You will use the formula P = 2l + 2w.  You will replace what we know in this formula making it 72 = 2l + 2 (1/3l).  You will replace the width with the information we know about the width.  Simplify the expression on the right to make a new equation 72 = 2 2/3 l.  Solve for the length by dividing both sides by 2 2/3.  When you divide 72 by 2 2/3 you get 27 inches as your answer.  This is the length.  Once you know the length, you can take 1/3 of it (1/3 x 27) to get the width of 9 in.  Now that you know the length and the width, you will multiply these together (27 in. x 9 in) to get an area of 243 square inches!
