The paleolithic era was the era of the beginning of humanity (including also some of human's predecessors, such as the neanderthals,  until the Stone Age. Humans then had some basic tools (specially shaped stones) and even produced some art. The food was usually acquired from hunting and gathering rather than agrarian cultivation.
