Magna Carta, charter of English liberties granted by King John on June 15, 1215, under threat of civil war. By declaring the sovereign to be subject to the rule of law and documenting the liberties held by ‘free men,’ the Magna Carta provided the foundation for individual rights in Anglo-American jurisprudence. The main purpose of the Magna Carta was to attempt to put restrictions on the powers of a King or monarch. It was made so that the king may not abuse his power. The Magna Carta was the first stepping stone that led to constitutional monarchies and the monarchy that the UK has today.
Britain was against communism, and the Soviet Union in Poland made the country a communist one. As well, they were losing trade with the country due to Soviet intervention in trades.
