7-2x= 1-5x+2

Combine like terms
7-2x= 3-5x

Add 5x to both sides
7+3x= 3

Subtract both sides by 7
3x= -4

Divide both sides by 3
x= -4/3

Final answer: -4/3

Find an equation of the line perpendicular to the graph of 14x - 7y = 8 that passing through the point at (-2, 5)
Kay [80]
14x - 7y = 8
-7y = -14x + 8
y = 2x - 8/7....so ur slope here is 2. A perpendicular line will have a negative reciprocal slope. All that means is flip the slope and change the sign. So we have 2 or 2/1....we flip it making it 1/2....we change the sign making it -1/2. So our perpendicular line will have a slope of -1/2.

y = mx + b
slope(m) = -1/2
(-2,5)...x = -2 and y = 5
now we sub into the formula and find b, the y int
5 = -1/2(-2) + b
5 = 1 + b
5 - 1 = b
4 = b
so the perpendicular line is : y = -1/2x + 4 <==

Romashka [77]
So 3/4 converted to a decimal is 0.75 .

0.75 X 26 = 19.5

So the answer could be 19.5, but if that’s not available it’s probably because they want it converted back to a fraction.

The answer would be 39/2. Still don’t see that as an answer choice? They might want you to convert that to a mixed number which is 19 1/2 .

Answer: 19.5 , 39/2, or 19 1/2
All are correct

2. The variable expressions represent the angle measures of a triangle. Find the measure of each angle. Then classify the triang
Umnica [9.8K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The triangle KLM is shown in the attached photo. The sum of the angles in a triangle is 180 degrees. It means that

angle K + angle L + angle M = 180 degrees. Since

m angle K=(10x+10). m angle L=(9x-3). m angle M=(7x-9), then

10x + 10 + 9x - 3 + 7x - 9 = 180

10x + 9x + 7x = 180 + 9 + 3 - 10

26x = 182

x = 182/26

x = 7

m angle K=(10x+10) = 10×7 + 10 = 80 degrees

m angle L=(9x-3) = 9×7 - 3 = 60 degrees

m angle M=(7x-9) = 7×7 - 9 = 40 degrees.

The triangle is an acute triangle because each angle is lesser than 90 degrees

The triangle is scalene triangle because non of the sides are equal.

Verify the identity.

cot. (x - (pi/2)) = -tan x

Please, help me!!!
Leya [2.2K]

Answer:

cot . (x- π/2)= - tanx

Step-by-step explanation:

cot . (x- π/2)= - tanx

cot .x - cot π/2= - tanx

cot π/2= 1/tanπ/2

But tan π/2= ∞

cot π/2 = 1/∞= 0

cotx - 0= - tanx

cot x = - tanx

cosx/sinx= - sinx/cosx Putting values of cot and tan

cosx/ sinx ( sinx/cos x) = -sinx/cos x  (sinx/cos x )

Multiplying both sides with sinx/cos x

1= - sin²x/cos²x

cos²x= - sin²x                 as cosx = -sinx
