Because B is the midpoint of AC and AB = 2x + 4, BC must also be 2x + 4. So you add 2x + 4 to 2x + 4 to get 4x + 8. Then you set that to be equal to 40. Then you subtract 8 from both sides to get 4x = 32 and divide by 4 so you end up with x = 8.

It should take 5.22 minutes to clean a shower. You have 5 showers that need to be cleaned. How many minutes should it take for y
Pie
This problem is simply multiplication as it is 5.22 minutes per shower. With this in mind, we can just multiply 5.22 by 5 and get our answer.

5.22
x 5
26.1

Using the math above, we can see that it should take 26.1 minutes to clean 5 bathrooms.

HOW ARE TRIANGLE PROOFS USED TO PROVE OTHER PROPERTIES OF GEOMETRIC FIGURES? EXPLAIN
olasank [31]
When triangles are congruent, one triangle can be moved (through one, or more, rigid motions) to coincide with the other triangle. All corresponding sides and angles will be congruent.

When triangles are congruent, six facts are always true.

Corresponding sides are congruent.

Corresponding angles are congruent.

The good news is that when proving triangles congruent, it is not necessary to prove all six facts to show congruency. There are certain ordered combinations of these facts that are sufficient to prove triangles congruent. These combinations guarantee that, given these facts, it will be possible to draw triangles which will take on only one shape (be unique), thus insuring congruency.
